The natural sunlight  that we all love covers a wide range of frequencies, some that we can see and others such as heat, that we feel. The frequencies that produce heat are from the “far” infra red part of the spectrum and our saunas are designed to reproduce those same frequencies and impart the benefits of deep healing heat to our bodies. Unlike traditional “Finnish” type saunas that produce very hot dry air, our high technology “IR” saunas offer a pleasant experience similar to relaxing on a sunny day and feeling the sun’s rays gently warming our body. V traditional sauna?

The infrared cabin is an effective but gentler way of having a sauna then the traditional "Finnish" sauna.  Because the temperature is only 35-60 Celsius, the sauna can be used by individuals who do not like high temperatures.

The heart of the infrared cabin is the infrared heater, which emits specific rays, not visible to the human eye. The long wave-length infrared radiation penetrates 3.5 - 4 cm deep into the muscle tissue - as a result, 3 - 4 times the amount of sweating occurs. In the infrared sauna we sweat not only through our sweat glands, but through our sebaceous glands too.  The advantage of this is that whereas in traditional saunas our sweat is made up of 97% water, in the infrared sauna it is just 80% water and 20% fat.  Many toxins do not dissolve in water, only in fats (such as cholesterol).  So during an infrared sauna we are not just loosing weight, but also ridding ourselves of toxins and harmful chemical substances accumulated in the body.

Digital control

Every WELLcarbon sauna is equipped with a simple to use, touch button, digital control panel. Simply select your desired temperature on the display and set your sauna bathing time, and the panel will beep when you approach the end of your session*.

There’s even a button to select your desired mood via the colour therapy lighting program! Slide a relaxing CD into the player (standard with all WELLcarbon models), grab a book, and you’re good to go on your most relaxing workout ever!

Why not buy a "Cheap" IR Cabin???

You'll certainly be able to find cheep IR Cabins on the internet  but its always a good idea to engage some common sense before parting with your money and question why some products are so cheep compared to others. Most saunas offered on auction sites are "internet saunas" they are specially made to look good but with very poor heaters, insulation, cabinetry and build materials. In other words they are rubbish, so you won't use it after a the first tryout and it will quickly find its way back onto ebay just like all the "hardly used" saunas do. Our saunas are high-end designer specification, we have units in our showroom you can try out. Environmentally friendly heating concept:

The WELLcarbon™ heater utilises semi-conductor technology to create powerful far infrared heat mostly in the range 8.4 to 9.4 microns from minimum energy consumption. No noise, light , gasses or any harmful particles are generated by the heater making this a ecologically sound technology.

Research has shown the ideal emitter range is between 7 and 14 microns. This is sometimes called the "Vital Range" as it appears to have special regenerative effects on our bodies.

The large surface area of the WELLcarbon panels create soft even heat over an ideal infrared wavelength spectrum that’s comfortably within the "Vital Range". This ensures  the maximum therapeutic effect to aid the release of toxins from the body.

The heat generated by WELLcarbon™ heaters are from the optimum “vital range” of frequencies, thus the infrared heat reaches the deeper layers of the skin. As a result of this heating, detoxification begins: the serotoxins accumulated in the cells, such as mercury, aluminium, cholesterol, sulphur and nicotine are excreted more effectively.  Blood circulation and peripheral blood circulation increases, easing not only internal conditions, but also skin problems, such as psoriasis or eczema. whilst good blood circulation will improve skin tone.

The frequency of the WELLcarbon™ heaters encourages the release of extraneous salt and subcutaneous fat from the body. Medical research suggest that this frequency causes water molecules to resonate, or vibrate aiding the release of water soluble fats from this deep tissue. 

Up to 600 calories can be burnt during a half hour’s sauna, compare this with 30 minutes of jogging burning 300 calories, or  30 minutes of cycling to  burn 225 calories.The healing of chronic sports, or other injuries, or muscular pain may also be dramatically accelerated with regular use of IR therapy.

A WELLcarbon sauna air temperature of between 30 and 65 Celsius is not only much more comfortable than the much higher, dryer temperatures of the traditional “Finnish” sauna, but also more beneficial to your body too.

The most common types of IR heaters (often called Emitters) are, Magnesium, Redlight, and Carbon panel. They all emit Far Infra red but at different frequencies which effects how it acts on the body:

 Magnesium

• Infrared spectrum B & C.

• Frequency 2,800-10,000nm

• Requires 15-20 minutes preheating.  The magnesium heater provides much of its output as heat.

• IR-C radiation is absorbed immediately by the top layer of the skin (to about 0.1mm) warming up the skin surface and causing the skin’s blood vessels to dilate enabling the heat adsorbed from the C radiation to be distributed through the body.

• IR-B radiation penetrates about 1mm and the distribution of absorbed heat starts more quickly than that of the IR-C radiation.

• Sweating commences once  the body starts to heat up.

Redlight

• Infrared spectrum A B & C.

• Frequency 780-10,000 nm

• Redlight heaters provide the optimum radiation spectrum and instantly provide even and intensive heat to the user. 

• 85% of the energy used by the heaters is emitted as infrared radiation.

• IR-A radiation creates efficient heat distribution within the body tissue and penetrates 4-5mm under the skin to the subcutaneous layer. The sweat and sebaceous glands start to secrete perspiration as they try to cool the tissues, and this caries toxic matter from deeper tissues out of the body.

Stimulates blood circulation & strengthen cardiovascular health

The heart rate speeds up, increasing blood circulation, this in turn carries the heat throughout the body causing intense perspiration in the same way as physical exertion or sports activity would. This “physical activity effect” however occurs whilst simply relaxing in the sauna.

Simple to operate

This sauna simply plugs into any convenient 13amp socket (unlike the traditional Finnish type that needs vastly more electrical power).

 The touch pad provides easy control of all sauna functions to allow you to quickly set the temperature, timer, lighting etc just how you like it.

On a technical note the computerized controller is completely safe as it has no moving buttons or parts, simply touch the buttons with your finger tip and the system automatically responds., making this amongst the most reliable and safest systems available.

Great to look at now - and for years to come

You've spent a lot of time and money carefully furnishing your home - why spoil it with a cheep looking sauna cabinet? Did you know that many "internet" saunas are made so cheep that the cabinets are actually vinyl covered MDF board, not only does this affect how they work (the cabinet needs to breath) but of course they look rubbish as well. And what about the inside? The whole point of a sauna is to perspire and whilst its a good idea to use a towel to protect the surfaces, our top quality natural linings provide the best possible stain resistant, breathable and wonderfully scented environment for you to enjoy.

We've worked hard to get away from that boxy packing crate look of others with our extensive use of large lightly smoked 6mm toughened and shaped safety glass panels that provides a contemporary, airy, designer look to enhance any modern room setting and give a feeling of spaciousness when using the sauna. Delivery

• We aim to deliver your new sauna within 15 working days from receiving your payment..

• It will arrive in three large heavy (typically 50kg) packages.

• There must be someone available to sign for the delivery.

• There must be at least one strong fit able bodied person available to assist the driver with the off-loading.

• The driver (and assistant) will unload and wheel each package across firm level ground to your doorstep or garage (or other suitable outbuilding) but the driver will not take the packages into your house or up any steps

• Health and Safety is important and the driver may refuse to assist with transporting the packages across or into any environment he/she considers unreasonably hazardous (such as building sites, standing water, unsafe ground, etc).

• Any damage must be noted clearly on the delivery sheet at the time of delivery.

• If the driver considers delivery cannot be completed for any of the above reasons, the goods will be returned to our depot and an additional charge will be made for any subsequent delivery attempt.

Install and commissioning: Our saunas come with full assembly instructions and are really easy and straightforward for two people to put together in an hour or so with just a screwdriver. We can provide assembly and commissioning for you at additional cost - please call for details.

Before Delivery

 Please check that you have suitable dry storage available to take these large heavy packages.

Please ensure there is someone at the address who is authorised to sign for the delivery and assist with it.
